Description: The Yorkie Russell is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the Yorkshire Terrier and the Jack Russell Terrier. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. This hybrid cross is recognized by the American Canine Hybrid Club. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

I recently bought a Yorkie Russell (she is now 5 months)she is simply adorable. I also have 2 cats, and I was a bit worried as my last dog ddn't really get on that well with them, however, she is brilliant with them - she just wants to play with them all the time. She loves kids, people and other dogs. She is also quick to learn and very trainable - she's just a little bundle of fun really. She has only barked once or twice at a noise she's heard the whole time I've had her and I have to agree, having had various different breeds of dogs in the past, she is by far the best.

I have a Yorkie Russel & he is the most delightfull little dog ive ever had. Amazing with smaller or younger dogs, very very friendly, LOVES people, children and other animals (I have horses & two cats). He'll often whine to go and see the great dane over the road, not much phases him. He was mauled by a greyhound at a very young age and weeks after wanted to go and play with it. Definatly a family dog, not yappy, lovely lapdog and not nappy around children. Although, it depends on the way you bring them up. Ours is just a average familys puppy and he has turned out lovely. Although, the picture up there doesn't do the breed justice EVERYONE is constantly saying how adorable he is, and theyre fab agility dogs.
